Sustainability
We believe that harnessing the power of chemistry for the greater good can help solve the planet's most pressing challenges. That’s why we support innovators developing solutions for a more sustainable, equitable, and resilient world.
Sustainability is in our DNA
Our facility at 945 Princess is one of Canada’s largest deep energy retrofits, set to cut carbon emissions by over 80% by 2025.

Together, we push the boundaries of what’s possible—transforming a neglected building into a model of sustainability and holding ourselves and our ventures to the highest standards. When it comes to combating climate change, there are no shortcuts.

But the work is far from done. If you have ideas on how we can amplify our impact, we’d love to hear from you!
"It's chemistry that got us into this climate mess, and now, it's chemistry that will get us out."
- Director of Strategic Development, Sebastian Alamillo-Falkenberg
Chemistry has a reputation for getting a little messy. Historically, products and processes were developed to solve major industrial challenges—think early plastics revolutionizing manufacturing or synthetic fertilizers boosting global food production. But with greater knowledge, we’ve come to understand the unintended consequences—environmental impact, resource depletion, and toxicity concerns. No single technology holds all the answers, so we take a holistic approach to help innovators drive progress in the most critical areas.

Together, we are working to reduce toxicity and support the commercialization of technologies that have the potential to make an outsized impact in the following areas:
